I joined in 2001, been away for a number of years but I'm back now . I still have my Tokais, the first one I bought new in 1984. It's a Love Rock TLS-50 GT. The latest one I bought last week, it's ...

Actually, to me it looks more like it says 80 on the fretboard end. I have what I think is an ST-60 from 1982. I bought it from the original owner. It had SD SSL-1 pickups when I bought it but I manag ...

Hello Michael!
It is really nice reading you again.

According to the TRC cover it seems to be a 90s TSG. It could be a special model or prototype but not sure. I own a 1996 LS320CS with no serial ...

I found this guitar. Owner said he got it in Ireland in 2014. Also says he can't find a serial number anywhere. Does this make sense? I don't know why someone would fake a tokai but maybe. I also can' ...

A couple of pictures of the guitar. It's very resonant and I really like the SD '59 pickups. I have so far replaced the tuners, strap buttons and volume/tone knobs with Gotoh's.

A happy ending !

Congrats

Thanks! I still don't know what modell it is, but if it was supposed to be a Greco I guess it was made late 80's/early 90's. I'll look for the models that were availab ...

I admit I was a bit worried but there were so many things that felt right about the guitar. I'm not worried anymore 🙂 , it's definitely a Tokai, the pickup routing looks exactly as it should! ...

Take out the neck pup and have a look in there. Tokai has it's own routing fingerprint.

Will do, I know what the love rocks look like. I guess it will look a bit different on the SG with the neck g ...

I did buy the guitar even though I'm not sure about what it is. It's all mahogany, has a one piece neck with glued on wings on the headstock as it should be. Pickups are SD 59's and the pots are CTS. ...

After searching the forum I found a thread where japanese Love Rocks without a serial were discussed. They seem to be from the mid nineties up to ~2001. Could it be possible that this SG is from that ...

I think the headstock has been reshaped, it should look like this:

The same headstock design was also used on the Tokai MAT guitars in 84-8 ...
