Congratulations, Mike.

Eight pounds, and a top that pretty that's solid? That's clearly a step up from the 79 LS-100 I have for reference. That's a spectactular guitar.

I'm even less familiar with newer Tokais than I am with older Tokais, but I saw all the bright white plastic on this guitar and I instantly thought of the snowy mountain caps of Korea.

Seems a bit ...

<<Nicely designed bridge there. All it needs is some individual saddle height adjustment.>>

Do you get any more adjustment with a Gibson-style ABR-1? I suppose you could file down a sad ...

That's a beautiful guitar.

Since I recently expressed my feelings about funny inlays and other minor cosmetic missteps on recent Gibson guitars, I wonder if anyone else looked at these photos and ...

??2552? If I converted that right it's about $4500 US for the real deal. Congratulations are in order - I think that's a fine price for heirloom-quality a guitar a guy would keep forever. I'll bet you ...

I think Schaller stuff is generally of very high qulaity and not cheap. I'd think a roller bridge would be best utilized on something with a bigsby (where the strings otherwise saw back and forth ove ...

I believe the Rossington is also aged by Murphy. It's a great guitar. You have to scroll down a bit to see them, but this site has a few nice photos.

Hi RA,

I don't have a 60s style Springy Sound neck for sale, but I could make great use of a 60s style Springy Sound body (with 3 tone sunburst). If you find a more complete guitar and want to part ...

Hi Dominik,

First make sure you're not going the wrong way (I say this from experience). If the fretted 12th fret note is flatter than the open string, you'll want to make the string shorter, so mo ...

As Mike may have mentioned, there was a recent article in Vintage Guitar Magazine about the guitars (Jimmy Wallace, KM, Leo, etc..) you mentioned. Please let me know if I can help with any ...

To answer Ian's question, I do believe that original 1960 Les Pauls had inked-on serial numbers. According to this site (which seems to match my memory) Gibson began imprinting serial numbers in 1961: ...

I was also wondering if an LS-120 would really have a two-piece (rather than one-piece) back. If so, that and the veneer top are really making me think an LS-100 is a step up!

From the ad: << ...

Thanks to Mike and Ian for their replies.

I'll check out the other threads Ian mentions and I suspect Mike is right about the DiMarzios - HOWEVER - when I asked the folks at Dimarzio if they could ...
