Re: "This Forum"

 people are sure reading but not writing enough. the old timers dont come back often anymore. are we really ok here lately? Time passes & things change. I'll offer an example. Many years ago in the 1990s a well known guitarist from Austin, TX had a mailing list, run by PS. The mailing list ev...

Re: Bacchus "Beginning of the New Tradition"

Harold is a great guy; we have discussed guitars often, I have purchased a few from him, and I believe he understands that I do have a very good knowledge base in regard to Deviser brands, Bacchus in particular. We have shared quite a few discussions concerning the Bacchus brand, among other brands....

Re: Reverb sighting - can anybody provide info on this Goldstar strat? Seems to be a little off?

To the OP: Looks like an AST40 OW, as described on page 5, from the 1984 Vol. 2 catalog. * * IMO if you want a 'good' Goldstar Sound find an example that was made for the Japan market that has the Fender style head stock. Good luck Eso es! Muchas gracias. Reference: http://bassjapanusa.ru/catalog/t...

Re: Bacchus "Beginning of the New Tradition"

As I stated previously, more than once; the attributes demonstrated within the photos offer great detail concerning the example. What do you see on the head stock? What do you not see on the head stock? Those are the biggies, in my book. What other attributes are obvious from the photos? Again, I am...

Re: Bacchus "Beginning of the New Tradition"

Hi broken, Before I posted here I offered a TF member (youami) the below PM, because he has the same user name as one of the members from the other forum that made an inquiry about the BLC with P-90s. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: Bacchus "Beginning of the New Tradition"

What would those attributes be ?? There are some pictures but I wouldnt call them the greatest to base much on really myself. Its black so you cannot see how many pieces the guitar is at all. The board looks ebony but again I couldnt say it is for sure. I could make some of my rosewood boards look ...

Re: Bacchus "Beginning of the New Tradition"

Is it the non serial ebony p90 deal ?? I personally think these non serial bacchus should be called something else since they sem to have different specs to the ones that later got serial numbers. The starter series?? Lol who knows. They all seem to be called the vintage series though. Bacchus just...

Re: Bacchus "Beginning of the New Tradition"

So i have a few Bacchus and i have to say i'm impressed. I'm starting to look at their Strat offereing because well, i'm a guitar addict lol. I'd like to hear from anyone who has experience with the stats that have the new tradition moniker on the headstock. Here's one i'm interested in but i don't...

Re: Reverb sighting - can anybody provide info on this Goldstar strat? Seems to be a little off?

To the OP: Looks like an AST40 OW, as described on page 5, from the 1984 Vol. 2 catalog. Head stock decals match. The 'cheaper' tuners would be expected on the 40 (40K yen) level examples. The L21*** serialized neck plate is within the known example range from 1984. AST designates the altered (non F...

Re: Bacchus live road jr $1,000 plus shipping and fees

Yes, GLWTS. :) I bought that guitar from Harold & eventually sold it in 2015, along with a hard case to boot. I recall the original pickup seemed pretty hot; I used to play a lot of George Lynch/Dokken stuff on that guitar. :D One thing I have always liked about the Bacchus Vintage Series guitars ar...

Re: 1981 LS60 v. 1981 LC60 - What was Tokai Thinking?

I'm pretty sure they did what they did in '81 to give us guitar nerds something to talk about in 2020... Or maybe it was marketing. Yeah, I guess I would have to agree, I mean Ned put this forum together so that folks could discuss these things but Tokai must have only been making this *hit up, jus...

Re: 1981 LS60 v. 1981 LC60 - What was Tokai Thinking?

They will be made to different specs to replicate different les paul models of which ever era they chose to work from. Same goes for all the different neck profiles on Fender and Gibson replicas. Tokai generally pay attention to detail. I assume Tokai based the LC60 & the LS60 on 1950s' Gibson guit...

1981 LS60 v. 1981 LC60 - What was Tokai Thinking?

It's interesting how different guitar manufacturers 'build' their products, and it's even more interesting to see a single manufacturer build guitars differently. Take for example the 1981 Tokai LS60, and the 1981 Tokai LC60. These two guitars were made by the same company, the same year, with the s...
