Re: Tune of the day

Hey Marcus, I was just looking @ Doyle's web site this past weekend looking for tour dates. I agree with you on Doyle's talent; he is the REAL DEAL 8) First time I saw Doyle was in 1999 (Jellycream era) @ the Gypsy Tea Room in Deep Ellum. I still recall how blown away I was by Doyle's abilities both...

its the same ... all 90s are veneer top and all 150 and 240s are solid.. if you see a so called 150 without a solid top then its not a 150.. simple.. I don't believe "all" 150s are solid. There are some examples with associated paperwork/warranty card with matching serial # that show 150, that do h...

Re: Bacchus "Beginning of the New Tradition"

Generally great guitars, I've yet to get a turd. I would have to agree with that statement. I purchased my first Bacchus (Vintage Series) around 2005, around the general time frame the series was coming toward the end of production. I have owned at least one example of most of the Vintage Series li...

Re: Bacchus "Beginning of the New Tradition"

catalog does not list the fingerboard radius.
Finish is listed as, "lacquer." IMO & from my experience with BST examples from the era that means nitro lacquer over a poly base; all very thin.

Re: Bacchus "Beginning of the New Tradition"

from observing the photos that demonstrate the attributes IMO this example is a BST-54V, with the original MSRP of 108,000 yen. The example looks to be all original & it looks to be in great condition. It should have a slight V neck profile, along with a 2 piece center seam Ash body, and Alnico Spec...

if the number is stamped then the 02***** serial suggest a 2002 year of manufacture

model number is anyone's guess

Re: Combat Custom Guitars Les Paul Model

Yeah; it's a cracker all right. Gotta love that top color; reminds me of the early 80s LS-200 top color. It's on Digimart.

If I didn't have so many LPs around I would consider a purchase but I don't need another Lester.

Re: Opinions on this ST60 ?

if you like the maple neck (I prefer rosewood 'board) then it looks OK to me. since it is an early Goldstar it is a shame the seller didn't get detailed shots of the saddles & the trem block. it may have the (old) zinc block from the Springy era; it may have the steel block from the Goldstar era. Di...

Re: African Mahogany, Honduras Mahogany or Mahogany

I agree with HAMAMATSU; the info seems a bit backward since Honduran is typically more co$tly than African. I would recommend asking Tokai if you could see photos of the body blank lumber & also obtain correct/accurate weights for them. This could help you to pick a lighter, or heavier body & also i...

Re: Bacchus BLS-DX ? (Quilt top BLS model)

Hi wulfman, That is a nice one you spotted there. That looks like it could be from the BLS-59 era; I would say circa 2004/2005. Why? The stop tail looks to be nearly flush with the maple top, which indicates the BLS-59 era recessed stud anchor set-up. I agree with your idea about Deviser creating 'c...
