Hi all A very interesting guitar! I'd definitely agree with hans-j?rgen and togps that it's not a Tokai and I would also definitely say that it's not a Fernandes or a Burny. The reason for that is, Fernandes/Burny always drilled the front pickup volume pot hole almost inline with the stopbar holes. ...

Hi guitaristmag

if you are interested in pics of my 1979 Les Paul Reborn, I could send you some in hi resolution. There are some detail shots too.

You can preview them here:

Top

Hi Hans-J?rgen The 1979 LS-50 had a maple top. Most likely it would be a 3 piece top, but thats hard to tell on the black model. The back is 2 piece mahagony, thats for shure. For the tailpiece I'm not shure either, because I didn't paid much attention to it, when I had it off last time. But I think...

Last night, my Les Paul Reborn had it's giggin' debut!

This makes me pretty proud of this wondeful vintage guitar! The only bitter pill was the need to exchange the superb sounding original pickups wit...

Ned,

thanks for posting the two catalogs into the registry site! Although its not the whole thing, I think posting the LS part of the 1979 catalog would be cool too!?

Thanks again and best regards

Hey TokaiJunkie – Wow :o !! Many Thanks :D ! I wasn’t really watching this thread, because I didn’t expect anyone to show a catalogue earlier than 81 :) lol. These should definitely be in the Registry. Very interesting stuff - we really need a Japanese contributor who'd be kind en...

Hi Charvelguy, here are my toughts about your guitar: - There is no serial number, no circuit plate and no enclosed PU Switch, so it almost can't be a Tokai at all. But from this point of view it could be a Burny or a Fernandes. - The headstock is a pretty small version, so it could still be a Burny...

Indeed, when this axe is a Love Rock from 1985, this looks like THE bargain! But the seller gives us not enough information about the guitar... so we'll never know.
