Hi guys, Whilst you are correct about the pick-ups (PAF for LS100 and LS120V) this didn't happen until 1981 when the LS-120V was released on the market. Reborn Old stopped at around 0009570 and was then Love Rock. This serial number 0011181 means it was made in the latter part of 1980, it is not co...

well, whatever floats your boat That is to say, folks can change, it's the way things are. I have MIJ and some American gear. I am selling all my low end MIJ in favour of high end MIJ, it's just the feel, smell, sound, etc that appeals to me more about them. However some rare MIJ are still demanding...

Is the truss rod adjuster the hex allen type or slotted screw type? looks to be hex type, which indicates pre 1982 to me.

Seems the changover is either 1980 or 1981 to cross slotted screw type?

A 1981 model maybe right?

hi, looks like some changed parts? usually expect to see the TOKAI stamp on the brass bridge plate, maybe in 78 it was not there? I have not seen another 78 TE85. the missing stamp on the fretboard could also be a 1978 spec, but this one has the wider neck plate with serial, so would expect a stamp ...
