Re: NGD... my first Tokai. Did I do alright?

Very nice..... one of the few Gibsons I own (and absolutely love) is a 2005 Standard Les Paul - first year for their Faded series. Very thin matte finish nitro on it that just feels great to play (not sticky on the back of the neck or where my arm rests on the body) and looks great too. Great catch ...

Very nice.... I'm a sucker for a plaintop.
Is it a satin / matte finish? I like that!

Re: Tune of the day

Oh yeah.... love a good slow blues where someone isn't doing a wanker imitation of SRV. That's a great clip you put up....Love Kirk Fletcher. Great player and singer. Here's another good one from my pal Kid Bangham - "Blues For The Road": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2Yaqj2g6iU Pretty clear that...

Re: Book, Tokai The Vintage Years 1977-1986

Hey there.... I've been out of town on work and it looks like my book arrived but wasn't left because it required a signature from the US Postal Service. They made one more feeble attempt to deliver and now I get a notice saying it was returned to sender     Peter, it had you...

I don't think there was an LS160 in 2009. I bought a brand new LS150 in 2009.

Jeezus!! Glad you're okay. I sold my big cruiser for fear of the same thing happening. Far too many close calls with jackasses swerving into my lane at 80mph while they're busy texting on their f'ng phones. Never put my bike down but it was just a matter of time before someone clipped me. I actually...

Harmony Ukulele - circa 1968
First real guitar was a MIJ Univox Les Paul in 73. Think there was a cheap no brand acoustic in between.

It's not nitro, even if his keen fingers detect it. Unless it was refinished and thats doubtful given the serial number is still there. 2 piece back = LS70F. The "F" means a flamed maple or sycamore veneer on top of a maple cap in this case. You can't confirm nitro by feel alone. That's pretty funn...
