54' Springy Sound with weird original tuners...

Hi there, I found this beautiful Tokai Springy Sound Strat on a Norwegian internet site. It is suppose to be very resonant because of the light wood, and has a medium size C-shaped neck. It is suppose to be all original except for the pickups. The only thing bringing out my scepticism is the tuners....

Get a CBS three layer pickguard with three singlecoils. This is what it once came with. If you are more comfortable with humbuckers, go for the one you've got. I'd say that guitar is a 84' Goldstar Sound, a copy of the 62' Strat.

I see. However I will have two Tokai strats, one rocking beast and one vintage. I might just stick to the stock pickups after all. They too sound great.

I kind of like the thought of having both the vintage dire straits sound, and still being able to nail those rock/metal overdrive sounds. What I really need to know is how the VZ ROCKs sound, and if they kill those vintage qualities that I long to play. I would give much to get hold of a set of Kinm...

I'm not sure whether I should buy VanZandt ROCK pickups, or Kinmans. I want the singlecoil sound, however with enough output and tone to play rock'n roll. My stock Tokai pickups are really great though they don't have enough clarity and sound a little muddy. Could have hotter output and better susta...

I think I'm doing the right thing here! Are there any chance of getting a less great model? Are there many types of JCM800s? I that case, which is the best?

I know, huge difference. Is the JCM800 any good? Is it worth more than $280? Being a combo, it's probably less worth. I'm hoping it will give me a good "base sound" for my great Carl Martin effects.

Thank you for the advice! I'm buing a Marshall JCM800 50W combo very cheap of a friend who has'nt been using it much. I'll see if it gives me more of what I want. Needs a speaker replacement though... those EV's sound too shrill.

There are many good Tokais to be found up here in Norway, Strats mostly. There were not sold too many of the Les Pauls or the SG's. Pitty. You see, what irritates me is that my father was the one to bring these guitars to the country back in the swingin' 80's. When I was born he did'nt realize that ...

Mark Knopfler - best Tokai Strat match?

When Mark Knopfler played the aLCHEMY concert he used a 50's Candy Apple Red Fender Stratocaster with maple neck. What would you people say was the closest Tokai ever made? Goldstar/Springysound ST-50/60/65/80..? By the way I'm buying a Springysound 7okai with that look... I hope it is as goo...

Should I buy the 85' TSG 60?

Hello there! I just wondered if any of you have played one of the TSG 60's? This is Tokais reproduction of the famous Gibson SG from the early sixties. I have found one with a dark cherry finish, with a fat neck. It costs about $715. This is in my home country, Norway. I will not be able to play or ...

Wildest TST finish ever!

Hello there! I just took some pictures of my rig, featuring a Tokai with the striking purple sparkle finish. Can anyone tell me maybe if this is a TST50, 56 or 60? I believe the neck profile is "V" shaped, not fat and round like the "C". It has the "deluxe" tuners and the "final prospec" saddles. B...

All those TSTs had the Final Prospect... They are authentic!

My TST has those Final Prospect saddles, and they look just the way the real authentic saddles did on the old Fenders. However I had one minor intonation problem with the E light string. The screw was a little loose or something. One of the light gauge strings was once cut of by the saddle, however ...
