FS: Tokai LS320VF

Hello everybody! Time has come to move on part with the nicest Tokai I have ever seen, my much loved and much played Tokai LS 320VF. She comes with an old (Costa Rica) Gibson Les Paul Reissue Lifton case. I added a switchring from DMC, a DMC knurles Toggle nut, a CTS long shaft Toggle, 2 CTS Volume ...

Hi everyone! What is the real downer on most Korina replicas is in my opinion, that usually the body shape is slightly off, as well as the headstock shape and the body thickness (usually too thin, like on the Bacchus BFV58K). Also the Pickguards are not correct most of the time, as they were 4ply on...

FS: Epiphone Elitist Byrdland

Hello! The time has come, we need a new kitchen and therefore 1 guitar has to go. And with a tear in my eye I decided to sell the greatest archtop, I ever came across, my Epiphone Elitist Byrdland incl. original case. I changed the pickguard for a 50's style long black one with 5ply Binding. I also ...

Hi! Maybe of interest for you is, that I was a previous owner of this guitar and changed the TRC to a Historic TRC from Gibson. I sold it because I had to finance my first LS-320 and I can tell you, that this LS-150 was the 2nd best Tokai I ever owned or played, no kidding! Great guitar that I can r...

Do you know any humbuckers that would fit in there without the hassle? And are they any good? Sorry for all the questions, but I might as well research this topic while Im waiting... What I did find out is that you can get P90's with alnico 2 and 5 and even ceramic for the heavier sounds.. .....

Hi! So that means any humbucker wouldn't fit without modifications, only P90's? I thought the whole idea with p90's was to have singlecoil action in a Humbucking size.. Don't know where I got that from though... But that means i should expect a certain amount of hum from the P90's?? Well, basically ...

No actually come to think of it I've tried a LP Jr with p90 that sounded cool.. But that's a different guitar!! But I honestly didn't think that fitting in the alnicos would be a problem.. Im very surprised!!! :o Hi $nakepit! As mentioned before, a P90 will fit, no problem. An AlNiCo V (if that is,...

Hello everybody! Well, I am not sure if I understood the OP's problems correctly. The ding on the body is a ding which is in the lacquer also, or a ding, that is covered by a smooth surface of lacquer? In the last case that would be something, that'd bother me, too. In the 1st case it is something, ...

Hi karppi! As far as I remember (I didn't watch the video a 2nd time now) I found, that the Unicorn sounded better to my ear when it came to the overdriven sounds, better than the other guitars. Imo, if you post such a video and have the chance to compare those guitars alongside a real Burst I would...

That comparison from Ruokongas has been discussed at the LPF a few months ago, and basically, the test setup imo is not very objective.

Hi JVsearch! I googled, thank you! Spanish Cedar is waht I came to know as "Cedro", which is quite often used by a luthier here in germany called Dommenget. He prefers it over mahogany as he states it is often light and very hard. I know what you mean by the trade names,-))) It's sometimes a real pa...

I mean, I don't really care if the pickup rings don't look right and the archaic celluloid was used on the inlays, as long as it sounds and sustains like a proper old LP Hi Hassouni! Don't take this personal, as it is not intended to be, but: how many old Les Pauls did you play in your life? There ...

Seems like a pretty reasonable summary! The Spanish cedar thing - AFAIK it was only used in 52/53. Hi JVsearch! Well, I checked Hembree, Carter, Wheeler and Duchossoir and nowhere I have read anything about a 52/53 Goldtop that used anything other than mahogany for the body, nor did I ever see any ...

Hello! Just throwing in my 2 Cents. First of all regarding the rumour of a refinished Gibson Historic with a neck joint, where the heel had little contact to the body, that's true. The thread was an LPF and it was a Refin done by Florian J?ger from germany. He stated, that he often saw those poor ne...
