Re: I have been sitting on an ES100

I did so, currently have an Antiquity set and a Wolfetone Dr. Vintage before. I usually swap pickups in my Tokais I feel it is worth.
You can check for an used Seth Lovers set for a vintage vibe sound.

Re: Tokai Les Paul HLS 360

Hibikis feels a bit different than other regulars LS and the neck is sligthly slimmer. 59 plus is stronger then regular MKII but nice. Very rare and hard t get Tokais.

Re: ES Type Guitar: any out there with a chunky neck

Tokai ES guitars I have owned and still own have not a 58 chunky neck, I would say a 59 late in my 1981 and a bit slimmer but not 60s in my ex ES-120.
These are very good ES style guitars. Old 80'sones are not so common but worth to me, 90's are ever rarer but lack some features I like.

Re: Tokai ls 230 koa top pickups

If 2006 made it should have a MKI set as in LS200. My former LS150 2005 made had them in

Regards.

Re: Can you help?

ASTs have their serial numbers on the neck plate, that's all. Older ones were around 1984-85 made first, and AST-56 or AST-62 on the headsctock, I cannot tell on newer ones (20006 +) . The logo was different (darker) letters on korean models if I recall well.

Re: Chinese or Korean Tokai?

It is chinese not korean. I recall seeing one with a C + 6 digitis whith not China made sticker on the back of headstock here in Spain some years ago. This kind of serial is very odd and specs could be anything.... Not sure if one factory suervised or a direct send to any Tokai distributor of the ti...

Ask for pickup cavities, specially bridge one, there should be a inscription with the model and colour finish there in black pencil ink

I had a 2005 120 too but with the correct headstock no dimple, sunburst finish, a very good 335 selected buythe factory. Afterwads I talked to them about a Honduras mahogany neck as far a neck is small and you can use the blank left in the warehouse for a neck but no way for a body. They did some to...

W= Western 250= 25.000 yen Yhere were a few Hummingbird models but not so many as when in 1975 (or late 1974 maybe) Cat's Eyes were born with a lot of levels. I would bet it has some laminated wood in the mid range models and lower quality than a mid range Cat's Eye. Ask about specs to the seller- H...
