Re: Looking to have pickups filled and p90 routed

I just bought this guitar for that reason. I own 4 of the FGN 20E guitars. They are great guitars. Much better than the $3500 USD custom Gibsons. Anyways, I contacted Tokai to make me one very similar this one. It is not going to be exactly but it would run around $3000 USD or so with the p90s in it...

Looking to have pickups filled and p90 routed

A few months I saw a post here. Someone had a Burny that had humbuckers that was filled then routed for p90s. I just searched for 20 minutes or so and cannot find it. Anyways, I have a FGN 20E Les Paul I am looking to have the same thing done on. I am in Southern California USA. Anyone here have any...

Custom Made 2019 Tokai LG-150Q (PRS type)

I got this a month ago or so. I was going to post pics then but I forget. I ordered this direct from Tokai and it took 6 months to make. I think this model was discontinued several years ago so they used NOS body's then had at the factory (they still make the cheaper LG made in China models I think)...

Re: Toggle switch for LS150 2005

I have had much better luck with the Panasonic switches that with Switchcraft switches. For me they seem to last much longer and work better.

Re: Toggle switch for LS150 2005

For modern Love Rocks Tokai I believe Tokai uses. This is what was in a custom ordered LG series (PRS type) guitar I just got from Tokai a month ago. The Love rock should use the exact same part. All my older Love Rocks have had all the electronics swapped so I cannot check those. ALL PARTS EP-0066-...

Re: African Mahogany, Honduras Mahogany or Mahogany

Thanks guys for the info.

I will go with the Honduran wood. Though I will not be ordering the guitar for a few months. I have some other things I need to order first.

Thanks again.

Re: African Mahogany, Honduras Mahogany or Mahogany

Yeah, that is weird. This is what Tokai emailed me yesterday

"+ Your specifications (SEB African Mahogany) US$2,500.00

+ Your specifications (SEB Honduras Mahogany) US2,100.00"

I wonder if they wrote it backwards by mistake?

African Mahogany, Honduras Mahogany or Mahogany

I am looking at getting a custom made Tokai Love Rock. I have ordered a few custom made Tokai Guitars before. I wanted this one in Honduras Mahogany, Tokai also said they have African Mahogany for about $400 more. I know Honduras Mahogany is used on many of the higher end Tokai Love Rocks 320 and so...

Re: Book, Tokai The Vintage Years 1977-1986

Hey Peter,

I was wondering if you got the books sent out to America yet? I paid through PP on Aug 16th 2019 but forgot to include a note about my user name here. Though I am pretty sure you got my name and address and figured from the $ amount what it was for.

Check out the FGN 20E custom guitars. It looks like they just changed the model number to NLC20EMH-EX though I believe the guitar is still exactly the same. https://mi.fujigen.co.jp/collection/model_NLC20EMH-EX.html I have 6 LP customs. 2 From FGN LPC-20E (MOP inlays and lacquer fujigen), 2 from His...

New Tokai Lacquer finishs

I have a few 2010+ Tokai Guitars some are lacquer some are poly. I have noticed vs other brands the amount of clear coat can be medium to slightly high. Nothing like a Rickenbacker but I would say higher than a Fender. Does a VF (violin finish) mean it has less clear coat on it? Or it that just colo...
