WANTED - Genuine TOKAI Hard Case for ES-120/130

Thanks to everyone for the replies. It seems that perhaps I should be looking for a case made by one of the specialist companys. I may be able to find someone willing to do a swap for my Gator case. Thanks again - back to the drawing board!!! Vaughan

WANTED - Genuine TOKAI Hard Case for ES-120/130

Hi AlanN I've only seen pictures of these cases. If they are as bad as you say, perhaps i'd better look to another brand. I have at present, a "Gater" case, but it's too deep and I have to pad it out to prevent the guitar banging about.(not good methinks!!) Vaughan

    ES-120 Hard case

Thanks marcusnieman I'll keep keep you informed on the Hardcase front. Nice tip on the static problem, I'll try that. I thought about putting some foil on the back of the plate , then earthing it. I'll try your tip first though. Thanks Vaughan

    ES-120 Hard case

Silly Me!, I assumed that a hard case was an essential accessory for a "top end" guitar. I'll try Tokai Guitars in Germany, see if they can offer any suggestions! Thanks

    ES-120 Hard case

Hi Folks, can anyone tell me if original Tokai Hard Cases are available for the Es-120. I purchased mine with a "Gator" Case which is rather too deep, and I would really like to have the correct Tokai Case. Also....... When playing rhythm on the 120 I get a lot of "Static" crackles from the...

    ES-120 Wiring

Hi Kevcaster This schematic looks just the job. I've had a look at your photos and I've made somenote for future use. I had problems with the common ground but the fault has been cured by tightening all the control nuts. Thanks for your help

    ES-120 Wiring

Hi, Does anyone have, or know where I can find a schematic for the ES-120 for reference. I've tried to work it out with a mirror through the "f hole" but the wires are a bit tangled. This is just in case anything breaks. Thanks

    ES-120 tone controls

Thanks Guys for all the tips. Since curing this fault and generally tightening everything up, the general tone has really improved. More top end and clearer bass notes. Luverly guitar - I just can't put it down Vaughan - Sunny Banbury

    ES-120 tone controls

HEY!! Great news! I've just managed to find the problem and have cured it very easily, without removing any of the controls. The tone pots get their ground connection through a foil glued to the underside of the top. The pots were very slightly loose and were not picking up the ground. Just...

    ES-120 tone controls

Hi Guys No, it's not that the controls only work over a certain range , but they have NO effect whatsoever! There also seems to have a lot of Hum which stops when I rest my hand on the bridge (or any other metal part). I'm wondering if this is part of the same problem. I suppose I really need...

    ES-120 tone controls

HI everyone New to the forum- this my first post. I have just purchased a used ES-120N and in general I am very happy. It's in mint condition (just a couple of very small marks) but it seems that the tone controls have very little effect. This is the same for both neck & bridge pickups. Can...
