I am not completely sure, what the 50's wiring is exactly. I have changed the capacitors to orange drops and move the tone cap to the center contact of the potentiometers. I did not change the wire type - at the moment I am not sure if this is needed for the 50's mod ? If I read it correctly...

I am not at all an expert on this, but as far as I know, your LS85 has a poly finish, which is very durable as it stays more elastic. Dryed Nitro (after many years) is much more hard and will probably crack if it "sees" high temperature differences. So I guess on nitro guitars one could try cold...

No, I will check the Haeussels for sure ! I friend of mine has Haeussels in his Heritage and his guitar sounds great. I am doing some recordings of each setup, I can quite easily compare them without beeing too much affected by the "new" factor :). Anyway I am totally glad with the current setup.

What the price of a plekking job ?

Hi, I just got my Edwards Les Paul on Saturday and I can't believe how good it is. I for sure will change Pickups as I don't like the SD Jeff Beck and also the SH1 seems to be too muddy for my taste, but the guitar is just great ! What I also like about it, is how light it is, about 3.7kg.
