I know someone with an Engl Screamer, I have played it and it is a very versatile amp. Easily goes from a heavy chugging drop tuning sound to a plucky jazz clean with a few twizzles of the knobs. Can sound a bit scooped at times though, but the screamer is a more modern sounding amp anyway so...
I owned a Vintage V940 bass, with a solid natural finish bubinga body (only really seen on Warwick basses and other ?600+ instruments). It looked brilliant and played so well. Even had active electronics. Think I bought it for ?150 second hand after playing it in a shop.

yep, its an absolute beast of a pickup. So much low end clarity, almost EMG territory but with a much more 'organic' sound.
Well worth the money imo.
