    My Tokai Springys..

The tremolo on the ST-80 had Tokai stamped saddles, and a zink block. Nothing wrong with it.. used it for years, but the guitar sounded a bit dead/ dark compared to a couple of similar strats I've played. The Callaham bridge totally changed the overall tone and sustain of the instrument. Way...

    My Tokai Springys..

Hi Just testing the camera on my new phone. Here's a pic of my two Springy Sounds. Sunburst ST-80: Refretted a few years ago, Duncan SSL-1 pickups, Callaham bridge/ tremolo, RS-electronics pots. Black ST-50?: Original U-pickups. Fender bridge/ tremolo.

    Yamaha Super R'nroller 450S serial

Hi I just did a setup on a strat I bought a couple of years back. It's a black 450S.. I think the guitar used to live i a pretty dry place, had to file the fret ends, tap a couple of frets back in and some of the finish on the neck is flaking.. Put in some old SD-pup's I had in my...

    EG500 fret edge binding..

Thanks guys! Then I guess it was pretty common. I used to have a EG-59 ??, -89 model I think.. It did'nt have fret edge binding. I've had a few Greco's, but mostly Mint Collection from the late eighties. All good guitars, but this one has that little "extra" that makes it special.. to me at...

    EG500 fret edge binding..

Hi I've got a black 1983 Greco EG500, it had original Screamin' 82 pickups back when I bought it. I changed the pickups for some old Duncan 59's a couple of years ago. Great guitar! Question is: My guitar has fret edge binding. Is this normal fo a EG500? No pics at the moment, I'm at work.. ;)

Weird Neck Joint on Burny LP Custom

I have a RLC65 from 84/85.. The one with 3 pickups. It has the same tenon as the TheNewSteveH's guitar. Very nice guitar, and has a slightly thicker body than my LP standard.

A few questions regarding my Springy..

Hi! Used some fingernail polish remover (without acetone), and it dissolved the finish.. So it is nitro, and has a v-neck. I guess the conclusion is that I have an ST-80. One hell of a guitar..

A few questions regarding my Springy..

It was already done when I bought it. It's pretty common to refinish the fretboard when changing the frets, at least on nitro-finished guitars. There's some laquer at the fret-ends on mine, it looks like a light overspray was done. A good luthier could probably swap the frets very gently...

A few questions regarding my Springy..

Fixed my little sustain-problem tonight.. all it needed was a proper setup. Tightened the screws that holds the bridge down, and added an extra spring. Now it sounds much better! I'd still like to swap the trem-block, the original one is made of pot-metal.. I actually have a Tokai bridge with...

A few questions regarding my Springy..

I mostly use the neck pickup anyway. But the bridge pickup actually works pretty good, like a Texas Special with som extra spice.. The sustain is better on my Callaham equipped AV '62 strat. I just feel that this Tokai has more in it.. and that it would be an improvement with a new block/...

A few questions regarding my Springy..

Well, it does not have the original pickups. There's an old SD in the neck position (vintage type), and I believe the middle one to be a 70's Fender pup.. Bridge is a single coil that measures 11 K.. Great for playing solos!

A few questions regarding my Springy..

Thanks for the replys.. Well, the price was pretty good. It's been used on a few records, and have seen it's share of gigs. I'm going to bring some acetone with me from work today, and see if it's nitro. I have another question: Anyone know if a Callaham trem-block (the fender mexico/ import...
