Anyone got a Warmoth Neck on their Tokai?

I have got a Left Handed (Lefty) Goldstar Sound Body with a 22 Fret Warmoth Neck (reverse Hendrix style) and it fitted perfectly with no mods needed at all. I tried it on a 1997 Fender USA Std Body and it was too tight to fit without modification to heel or body. The Warmoth website is pretty...

How much better is the SD JB / 59 combination?

I have the JB/59 Combination one one of my LP's and a 59/59 Combination on the other. The standard pups on my Burny also squealed like hell at hi volume. The SD's are fantastic. I found an Ebay supplier in the USA, Guitarpartsresource, who sell them a lot cheaper than we can usually get them in...

    neckplate confusion

Found the old thread, unfortunately a lot of the comments were from Barry who has deleted his advice. See: http://www.tokaiforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2482&highlight=neckplate Nik

I have seen these before on "very early" models. I think there was a thread on this last year, might take some finding though. Nik

Newbie needs help ID'ing a neck

Hi, I think with the 8-9 marking and the "post lawsuit" head stock shape, it would make it around the 1985-86 era. The type of tuners also helps to identify it, if they are plain chrome tuners with non-split posts it is probably a ST-40 model (the entry level), if it has Kluson replicas marked...

    1980's Tokai 'U' stamped pickups

Hi, The "U" marked single coil pick up is a very good pick up, it was fitted to most of the mid-range ST's in the '80s. Tokai used about 4 different types of single coils, a cheaper bar magnet based one on the cheapest ST-40 Strats (much underated), and then "U", "V1" & "E", all staggered pole...

    What happened?

Hi Ian, I did see a maple cap Breezy once on Ebay.com last year. If I remember right, there were a few questions raised at the time. It was a Blonde body with a Maple Cap neck, post lawsuit headstock (USA spec) and with the cheap tuners ala ST-40 etc. So I think we all dissmissed it as a...
