Goldstar bridge specs

I have an 84 goldstar- rosewood with painted headstock in sonic blue - which I bought from new. Very early on I had to replace the bridge and stuck a Fender one on it. It seemed to fit OK, but I find myself wondering if it is exactly right? What are the measurements of the original bridge, are...

    Goldstar Bridge specs

Hi, I'm an infrequent visitor here, but I own a Goldstar Sound that I bought new in 1984. Back in the mists of time, the thread on the old cast block got stripped, and I simply replaced it with whatever was handy at the time. Not sure about the plate, but they are Fender stamped bent steel...

The definitive matching headstock photo album

Yes, as the sonic blue has aged it has got greener. It's really noticeable when you take the pickguard off, next time i put a set of strings on i'll try to get a pic showing the difference.

    Super edition Strat re-fret

ha, i just had my goldstar refretted and i must admit i thought about doing this. kept to the straight and narrow in the end though! i figured its easy enough to upgrade another squire if i want another flatter radius gtr neck. i'm with you on the whole "gtr is a tool" thing though

The definitive matching headstock photo album

I havent looked inside myself for a while but i'm sure it was SO. No, I put a Kahler trem on myself (still got the locking nut somewhere). I put the fender one back in after a while. Around the same time I also tried to dig out space for a humbucker at the bridge. Despite all this it has...

The definitive matching headstock photo album

Bumping this thread after 4 years just because my Goldstar looks like the OP's. [/img] [/img] Just had it refretted after 30 odd years of use - feels a bit weird but i'm getting used to it. The old trem went after a few years so i put a fender one in and recently had a steel...

What pickups are similar to U stamped tokai?

That's very interesting and useful information marcus & stratman, thanks. The U's in my Goldstar do seem to have quite a bite. But I didn't realise that were hotter than the more vintage types, not ever having swapped them out. Anyway armed with this info I shall go out and find some vintage...
