    Goldstar identification

You need more close up pics, 1 of the bridge, and pics of the underside of the scratch guard and pics inside the pup cavities. The scratch guard is not original and the knobs and pup covers look a bit too white. It might turn out to have non original pots, pups etc. Be very cautious. Colin

    id my tokai goldstar sound

Well no, the only guitars I have seen routed for a humbucker were custom editions(i used to own one) they were MIJ. There is no evidence this is a tokai at all, as Iain pointed out the decal isn't even on correctly. Colin

Nothing like any Tokai markings Ive seen, I think the guitar is a Lemon I'm sorry to say. If you bought it as a Tokai then you should be entitled to a refund, as its not as described. Saying all that, if it plays nice and you like it then thats all that matters. Colin

Well If thats the case then I do not think its a Tokai at all. Is there any stamping in the body cavities at all like 1=11 2=8 etc, anything like that? Looks only thing Tokai about it is the decal that someone fitted! Colin

Hiya, Can you remove the pickguard and take some more pics to see if there is any stamps inside, The guitar doesn't look right to me, I thought the klusion tuners should have slots instead of holes but I might be wrong. the pickgaurd, pickups, neck plate and controls look all wrong. Also are...

Help with identifying a Tokai Goldstar Sound

I think you payed over the odds, but maybe thats what you have to pay in Poland for a Tokai. I cant help much with pups, I put a Bare knuckle Sinner pup in the bridge of my ST50, I love it. Colin

Help with identifying a Tokai Goldstar Sound

What I can tell is it an ST40 looking at the tuners, low end Japanese model. Brazillian rosewood? no idea how they came to that conclusion. Most people change the pups as most think they are pretty thin sounding. Hope you didnt pay over the odds as there is plenty ST50's around. Having said all...

    Tokai Goldstar Sound

Hiya, For a start its not a Goldstar! At best it is a custom or super edition. We need more pictures, especially underneath the pickguard and base of the neck to see if there is Tokai stamping. Even if its genuine enough, I think you paid a wee bit too much, but as long as you are happy thats...

    A Tokai Book

Brilliant work Iain! Couple off wee changes that need done to my page, You have my Username as Hotrodcolin (back to front, lol) and the colour code of the guitar in "TG", translucent green I believe, its a hard colour to catch as its so dark. I recently lost a hard drive but will take a few...
